No leave without permission, BMC Commissioner to health officials

In fresh directives, Bhopal Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan on Wednesday told health officials to seek approval from his office before going on leave. The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) chief was inspecting the efficacy of the sanitation work in various localities of the state capital.During the inspection, Narayan told officials to ensure that all sanitation activities met the standards set by Swachh Sarvekshan 2024. He said that no Garbage Vulnerable (GV) points should be allowed to develop anywhere in the city and stressed the need for the immediate removal of waste from roadsides upon completion of the cleanliness exercise. He warned both officials and employees that any dereliction of their assigned tasks would lead to disciplinary action against the errant staff. Narayan also issued a show-cause notice to Assistant Health Officer of Zone 13, Vijayendra Gupta, for proceeding on leave without the prerequisite approval.The Municipal Commissioner inspected cleanliness activities at Banskhedi, Char Imli, Link Road No. 02, Mata Mandir, Bharat Mata Chauraha, Jawahar Chowk, Polytechnic, Raj Bhavan, Police Control Room, Arera Hills, Old Jail, Ambedkar Chauraha, Habibganj, Hoshangabad Road, and Misrod before issuing the directives.
